May updates!

Good day, all. Lots of stuff to talk about here this month. Right off the bat, some good news on the behalf of both Solarcide authors; Nathan Pettigrew and Martin Garrity.

nathNathan scored some great recognition with his recent popular fiction award in Writer’s Digest. His story, Dog Killer, got the nod for the best crime fiction picks and, frankly, its awesome to see his writing getting this kind of attention.

IMAG0005And word was received that Martin’s story, Godlings, will be featured in the debut issue of The Shwibly’s printed magazine. There are some great names lined up for the contents page and we’re eagerly looking forward to the release.

newAnd, of course, a new month means a new special guest feature. This month, we host author and poet, Hannah Lackoff, with her bold take on a dark tale, in poetic form.

HannahHannah has been gained a number of excellent credits both online and in print, and Shimmering, her new feature here for us at Solarcide, is a weird and wonderful read.

Check it out here.

shimmerNext up in the news, is a little status update on our forthcoming print format anthology release, Flash Me! The Sinthology. The project is moving along, into the final edits and proof-reading stage, and the final roll-call of contributing authors can be seen here. There is also now finalised artwork for the project, which was created by our lovely ally, Rebecca Jones-Howe.

flashsmallNo solid release date yet, but progress is being made all the time and we should have more updates before too long. Keep your eyes peeled!

Next month is a bit of a milestone for us. Actually, scratch that, it’s a lot of a milestone. The beginning of June will mark the second birthday of Solarcide. We shall, of course, have some fun happening to celebrate. We’ll be looking to make some big announcements, run some great guest content, and host our next book give-away.

Check back in June for the scoops and the party. Should be a good un’.

Rock on, folks!
